Oscar-Claude Monet was a French painter and a founder of Impressionism, known for his efforts to capture nature as he perceived it. Throughout his career, he was a key figure in plein air (outdoor) landscape painting, consistently expressing the philosophy of Impressionism.
Claude Monet created The Beach at Étretat in 1885. It is now part of the collection at Pushkin in Russia.
