Sir Edward Poynter (1836–1919) was a leading British Victorian painter known for his highly detailed classical, historical, and mythological artworks. Inspired by ancient civilizations, his paintings are noted for their realism, technical skill, and grandeur. He also served as President of the Royal Academy, helping to shape British art and education.
