Tintoretto was an Italian Renaissance painter known for his dramatic use of light and bold compositions. A master of both religious and mythological subjects, his work combined the grandiosity of Venetian painting with a sense of movement and emotion, making him one of the most influential artists of his time.
Jacopo Robusti created The Lamentation over the Dead Christ in 1560. It is now part of the collection at São Paulo Museum of Art in Brazil.
