Fabritius, Carel was a Dutch Baroque painter known for his innovative use of light and color. A student of Rembrandt, his works, often focused on intimate scenes and portraits, demonstrate a delicate handling of detail and an expressive style that influenced the development of Dutch painting.
Carel Fabritius created The Goldfinch in 1654. It is now part of the collection at Mauritshuis in Netherlands.
