Pierre-Auguste Renoir was a French artist and a leading painter in the development of the Impressionist style. Known for his celebration of beauty and feminine sensuality, he has been regarded as a representative of a tradition that runs from Rubens to Watteau.
Pierre-Auguste Renoir created La Balançoire in 1876. It is now part of the collection at Musée d'Orsay in France.
