William Holman Hunt was an English painter and a founding member of the Pre-Raphaelite Brotherhood. He was known for his highly detailed paintings, vibrant colours, and rich symbolism, often exploring religious and moral themes. Hunt remained committed to the ideals of the Pre-Raphaelite movement throughout his career.
William Holman Hunt created Isabella and the Pot of Basil in 1868. It is now part of the collection at Legion of Honor in United States.
