Die Krone

Maurice Denis

Maurice Denis was a French painter, decorative artist, and writer associated with the Nabis, Symbolism, and later Neo-Classicism. His innovative theories on art helped shape modern movements such as Cubism, Fauvism, and abstraction, and he later became a leading figure in the revival of religious art through church decoration and sacred artistic workshops.

Maurice Denis created Die Krone in 1901. It is now part of the collection at Neue Pinakothek in Germany.
